Hi there! Im currently cycling my juwel rekord 70, only adding water in yesterday(the 30th).The first tank i setup wasnt done to well, without having a test kit, not knowing if it was cycled and having most of my fish being killed. But now all is well  Anyway, Would blue and white coloured gravel besuitable for plants and do you need to take the circle thing that keeps the plant all in one bunch off and put it in the gravel? ANd would this gravel be suitable for some corys?

I will try and get some pictures but im having trouble loading them!!!!!!!!!!

Hey. The gravel is ok for plants but would be better if it was a finer size grain. Plants will need some nutrients in the gravel so add some root tabs (fertiliser tablets) under the planted plants. Take off the sponge and lead.
The gravel is fine for cories. Not too rough and its quite round. Just remember to gravel vac the gravel well so that bacteria doesnt wear down the cories barbels.

Thanks for that Radar!!! SO do you add the tablets directly under the plant, in the gravel?

yes push them deep into the gravel under the plant... make sure you get them well covered else they can leech into the water and cause problems/

I was at my LFS yesterday buyin some plants and forgot the tablets!!!!!!!!! Can i put them in with the plants still in the gravel...somehow
