hi all,

after spending some time on this board i am getting ever more keen on cories. I currently have 3 c.aeneus that I am going to get 3 more to join, but i was also thinking of getting some small ones for my 14 gal tank. I have read that pygmaeus are more of a mid water variety so i was thinking of having hasborus instead - is that the best choice do you think?

I have in my 14gal:

9 harlequin rasbora
1 fem 1 male guppies
2 otoclincus (am going to buy 2 more)
1 snail

i currently have gravel but i am going to change over to sand before i get the cories.

I have all three species of "pygmy" cory.
I can say that C.hasborus(Salt and Pepper catfish) are the most active of the three
and that C.pygmaeus (pygmy cory) do indeed spend as much time in the
mid level as they do at the bottom.
My favourites have to be C.hastatus (Dwarf cory).

If you have good water quality you may wish to try C.panda
but they are, IMHO, the hardest cories to keep alive.

Hi fatboybaby :)

When it comes to the tiny pygmy cories, which species you get often depends on which one you are able to find at all. :look:

i think that i am fortunate enough to live near wholesale tropicals which is a cory specialist so i might be in luck! will let you know how i get on B)
