Hi guys, you probably know too well by now I have pygmy cories, need a little help on feeding them! They dont eat infront of me and if they do eat it disappears overnight, more often than not though I find particular foods distegrated on the bottom and have to sucker it out. They don't like bloodworm or the pleccy tab things I have (two varieties, one are the sinking wafer thingies). They do seem to eat shrimp pellets, I think mysis brine shrimp.. I have had them what two-three weeks and a tad worried, they are not getting a varied diet. There are my 3 lamp eye fry in there also and these are fed bloodworm and algae ground dust, so some would make its way to the cories. Any suggestions for some better diet for my babies would be fab xx

Also the fry I have and that are on day 6, are being fed liquifry in the same tank 3 times a day. Can I ask from your experiences what to move onto next and when would be a good time? Over the weekend are plans to set my 10g up for all adults and fry.

Here's what I feed my adults... a lot of it is good for juvies too:

-Frozen tubifex worms (hikari)
-Frozen daphnia
-Live BBS
-Crushed spirulina flake
-Crushed flake
-Crushed pellet
-Baby cichlid pellet

My favorite is the baby cichlid pellets because they are nice and tiny and sink right to the bottom where the cories can just sort of browse on them throughout the day. They never seem to go for sinking wafers or algae wafers.

Hi amy

Well i'm still a newbie to pygmys :p ,but mine been eating what i give the cories which is tetra prima mini granules, these sink straight to the bottom. :)
I find either putting in small sinking wafers,(mainly when its lights out or the platys eat them) which i break up into smaller bits or tetramin tablets.if i give defrosted brineshrimp i use a turkey baster to squirt it near the bottom, this is readily taken by the cories.
I've noticed the bloodworm isn't touched by the pygmys, whether its too big for them, not sure!

Has regards the fry,i would now change to first bites/tetramin baby or defrosted baby brine shrimp, mix any of these in a little of their water.
Some peeps use live food,but i've never used these,so i can't comment :)

Hope its of some help
