I am about to do some plumbing, etc for my tank with PVC and PVC solvent. The can says 2 hours to cure, but that is just for pressure test ("Let cure 2 hours before pressure testing to 160 psi.")

How long does it need to cure before it is safe to hook up to a setup/populated tank? Anyone know?

Good Q.

Don't have the know it all answer. But I have waited far less than the two hours in the past.

I am impatient. :D

HAHAHA I am usually pretty impatient as well, but I did my construction tonight. So, I assume if I am not installing it for 14+ hours, everything should be fine?

I have done lots of PVC pipe fitting in work, they normally say 1 bar of pressure per hour. This stuff goes of pretty darn quick but I would leave it for at least 24Hrs.

I'v put water through in 5 mins but that was only on a small overflow with no pressure. I'd say 1/2 an hour to an hour.

ste :)

I'd give it plenty of time to dry. I did when I did mine, I wanted to be totally sure nothing would leach into the water.
