PVC question

How would one go about conditioning PVC for the tank?
I want to add a 1 1/4 elbow in the tank for my kribs. But I am soaking the fitting in water. I heard to do this that way if there is any kind of crap from the factory it will leach in the soak water not the tank. Sounds feasible, does anyone else that usues PVC condition it this way? or what is the best way/your way?
I am wanting to use aquarium sealent to glue rocks on it for the "natural look"

I also bought some small clay flower pots, what do i need to do if anything to get them ready for my tank. thanks

all i did was rinse them in the sink and they have been in my tankl for about 4 months without a problem.

thanks I thought so, but wanted to be sure there wasnt anything special I needed to do.

hey you should be fine with the pvc jsut washing it thoroughly. just take extra care when gluing on the pebbles and other stuff as it can easily come loose once in the tank if you have very mobile fish
