So I am trying to breed my bettas for the second time because the first time was unsucessful. I introduced the male to the breeding tank and now I have just put the female in the glass chimney, the male is flring like crazy, I dont think it is because he wants to breed but he is basically trying to kill her I think, is that normal? The female is very afraid, but she doesn't know yet that the male cant get her. I have read that the vertical stripes, pointing her head down, and her flaring back are signs that she should be released. The only thing is that she is a pastel color so it is almost impossible to see any vertical stripes, any other way I can tell that is she ready?
