Hello

I am setting a lagoon style tank and wanted interesting macroalgae.

I have seen this on ebay. Its listed as Purple Marine Algae:

"Purple Marine Algae
This is a very attractive purple marine algae that as well as looking decorative also gets eaten by various fish such as tangs and rabbit fish.
It is a better source of nutrition than other food such as dried seaweed sheets.
You will recieve a similar size portion as is in the photo.
The algae has a pearlescent blue sheen that you can not see in the photo.
The algae requires no special conditions and can survive under T8 T5 or metal halide bulbs. "

Does anyone know what sort of algae it is and what growing conditions it needs?
Thank you

Or "red seaweed". Looks very beautiful under strong lighting but can grow quickly. Have a good pair of scissors on hand.

indeed, whatever it is be prepared to prune. Lynden preferes using old rusty scissors that have been sitting in the yard for aquatic maintenance so get some of those.

Most metals will rust easily if not wiped dry after having been put in saltwater tank!

Lol. Yes Thank you for the advice, I will just go dig up those super rusty copper scissors I have sitting at the botton...lovely
