What part of the 'nitrogen' is 8 PPM? I'm going figure nitrates as I would think that if either ammonia or nitrites were at 8 PPM your fish would not at all be well... If it is actually nitrates that are at 8 PPM it is nothing to cause concern.Hi,
Any advice on reducing nitrogen levels (currently 8ppm), using Seachem Purigen for two comet goldfish in a 140ltr tank.
Water changes might not be enough but, am worriued about removing tannins.
Thanks

Two questions...
1) What exactly are your water parameters including ammonia, nitrites nitrates GH and KH?
2) Why are you worried about removing tannin? This is just for my own curiosity.
Because not everyone knows that a nitrate level of 8 PPM is fine. Especially with a novice it is thought that it is supposed to be zero across the board. Why did you feel you needed to reduce the nitrate level? 8ppm is not high.
