Pure Ammonia Where Can I Buy?

Hello Guys

Where can I buy a bottle of pure Ammonia, I live in the UK. I need it to cyle a new filter.

Try somewhere like B&Q, Wickes, Homebase, that kind of place. Maybe a chemist might stock it, but most small hardware shops sell it.
I think you need to make sure its pure ammonia. Try shaking it and when you open it there shouldnt be a froth or foam on it.

Homebase sell it. You'll not get pure ammonia (as in 100% ammonia) except through lab supplies - what you will get (e.g. from hombase) is in solution at about 5-15%, with distilled water; this'll be fine for fishtank. You need to make sure it has no cleaning agents, surfactants, etc.

Agree with annka5.. i used the homebase one, and it was 9.5% ammonia. worked for me.

boots the chemist sell it as household ammonia, also little chemists sell it 2..thats where i got mine from.
