Anyone tried the above? I've got a problem with hair algae at the moment so I'm toying with the idea of trying it. So far 30 gal tank has 4 SA Puffers, 4 Ottos, 2 Bristlnoses, wondering bout getting 2 SAE for the tank. I know that when fullly grown there will be too many fish but by that time I'll be able to relocate them.

Any ideas, Pufferpack you ever tried this combo???

I've never tried that combo, but SAE's are quick so should be able to avoid the Dwarfs. Is it the SAE's or the CAE's that get aggressive when mature and like the taste of meat ....I'd go with the other one

CAEs get aggressive.

I won't be getting an SAE for a few days now, lost one of the SAs I was going to put into the tank with it, no ideas why, the fish looked perfectly healthy apart from a slightly bulging gut but he may have just had a munch on a snail.

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 12.5

Did a water change yesterday so wondering if that stressed them out, also wondering if the DO levels were too low, so i've raised the spray bar to create more oxygenation.

Bye bye lil feller :byebye:

awwww, i'm sorry to hear about the loss of your little guy. poor little puffer. maybe he just wasnt' healthy to begin with. hopefully, your other fish will be okay.

Cheers Molly, fingers crossed bout the others, I'll leave it a week or so before I put anything else in there just to make sure.
