I read somewhere recently that some types of freshwater puffers are compatible with tiger barbs, but I can't remember which kinds. Can anyone help jog my increasingly dodgy memory?

None.

Mixing two species of fish that are known to be fin-nippers is a recipe for disaster.

There are no species of puffer guaranteed community safe anyway.

(I like your avatar, DangerMouse rocks.)

Thanks Sir Minion - I did think that the combination was a bit odd - its just goes to show that you can't believe everything you read on the web. *Gasp - surely not* :p

Dangermouse is the King! :kana: :hey:

There is one puffer fish that can be kept with tiger barbs or any other fish for that matter, truely great community fish.

They are known as Tetraodon cfcisasillyarse and are very rare but i would be willing to sell mine for offers upwards of £100.

Here she is

see thats another species, closely related but not the same as this one doubles as a water pistol, from genetic breeding with a archer fish of course.
