Purchased a Spiney Puffer from Calico in Penrith.. and wot a beuty, also a large Regal Tang... they eat loads when they settled in, and now they wont eat at all.. Tried alsorts, they eat alomost whatever i put in.. the mory snow flake eel eats all anywayz, coz he`s just big, long fat git..and the panther grouper is eating also. but im worried about the two.. the water is fine etc.. just a bit concerned. they havent eat for over a week..

any ideas?

What are you feeding them on? I used to have problems with some of my fish - They wouldn't even eat frozen brine shrimp. So I bought a little plastic tank and am rearing my own brine shrimps. Its quite easy really. Just add salt (sg about 0.020) and eggs and watch them hatch. You can get food from the LFS but I just grow algae in a plastic bottle (water and algae off tank sides left in the window and after about a week it blooms). My fish now have live food. They love it; it costs me nothing and I'm more or less self sustaining.

Hi Leanne.. yeah got me live shrimp brreding like ya self.. i just find it hard when the fish are like quite big and the don`t see the little brine shrimp kickin about in a 6ft tank..lol.. Some eat white bait, and frozen brine.. just the puffer will not eat em and neither wil the regal tang.. just prob turning into snobs..lol. The snow falk moray eel.. just eats anything.. he`s massive and long. propa beuty...

im also going to transfer my 4ft reef into a 6ft tank.. just a bit peed off, as i can`t really use the subtrate that i had in the fish only 6ft tank.. that i have in plastic boxs rearing to go.. With the chance of being copper. i can`t really take the risk.. so more money..lol.
