I'm after something interesting to go in with my crabs.

being crabs it gives me the option of having a brackish puffer...

i can get rid of the platty fry and put them in my lobster tank as lunch!!

and sugestions on the biggest puffer i can keep with my crabs in the 10 gallon?? brackish or salt.

Would like a very nasty one that rips stuff apart :D apart from my crabs

That's gonna be tricky... a puffer that won't touch your crabs. I'm afraid I don't know of any. Inverts are puffer's natural food. :/

Even if the puffer is smaller than the crabs, it would bite off pieces, usually the eyes. And that's not pleasant.

Oh bugger!!!

guess I'll just have to enjoy that mbu at work!!

what agresive puffer would fit in a 2fter anyways? might have to get another tank

If you want an unusual and aggressive freshwater puffer, I'd recommend a congo or a lorteti.

Lorteti are nasty little guys and the congo is this strange shovel-nose monstrosity that ambushes its prey from beneath the sand.

hmmmmm, so where you at at that kind of time!!

deffinately prefer the lorteti as it's bigger!! whats the biggest puffer i could happily house in a 10 gallon?

after some thinking I'ved decided to turn my 3ft community into a puffer tank and get a 4ft community instead.....

so with that extra space what can i put in a 3x1ft tank...same as before i can use sand, make it brackish!!

If you're happy to go brackish, a green spotted would be such a happy chappy in there! Or maybe a couple of figure eights?

For freshwater you could have a target or a dragon. They are both inactive puffers though, so you may not see them much.

Or how about a colony of dwarfs or south americans? One of our lfs' had a few in recently and they look so incredibly cute!

I think i like the idea of the brackish tank for one of those 2.

which would get the biggest and most agresive  ?

although a group would be nice i'd prefer a nice big evil puffer!! I'd love a fahaka but i couldn't bring myself to using such a big tank for 1 fish where as a 3 ft isn't so bad

The green-spotteds would get biggest - up to 10cm. Imagine dwarfs but bigger and er, spotted. :D

I'm keeping my eye out for a congo at the moment - highly aggressive and freshwater and described as looking like a swimming turd.
