Ok ive been reading a lot of threads about puffers and i need some expert opinion for a fresh water tank. Are dwarf puffers the only ones that would be appropriate for a 10G tank? what about green spotted puffers and how many should i get.

GSP's will grow too big for a 10g I'm afraid.

Dwarf puffers are a good start, and if you're dedicated to water changing regularly, then some of the target puffers would be good too. Take a look at the pinned thread on puffers to have a rough idea of what MINIMUM tank sizes you should be looking at, but remember a minimum tank size isn't what you should be aiming for, bigger is better.

Dwarf puffers are really the only puffer that can fit in a 10 gallon, and they are freshwater aswell. Most others are brackish, including the Green Spotted puffers.

Thanks for the feedback guys i think i will stick to the dwarf puffers as soon as my tank cycles.

I was just looking at your signature and was wondering if the guppies are a part of the stocking?

Its funny your said that put as soon as i get my tank cycled i am giving them to my local LFS for the puffers. I was told that they are aggressive.

Yup, the puffers are really aggressive. Just making sure thats all, I did'nt want you to have three chewed up guppies.
