This is a saltwater story i know, but i thought it might appeal to fellow puffer enthusiasts on here!!

amazing what info you trawl up when looking for puffer info on the web  Man who inflated puffers to show divers loses finger to puffers. Theres poetic justice for you!!

lol, that reminds me of the Sopa (sp?) puffer at my LFS. Anytime anyone goes by the tank he lifts his lips and tries to bite you through the glass. My friend wuz teasing him so I suggested he put his finger in there and try to gain some respect. Anyone can be a jerk and piss off the fish, be a man and put your hand in there after you piss him off. Needless to say, my friend stopped harrassing him. :p

 Ouch!!!!!
Bet the puffer fish said :p afterwards

Yay!

Go go puffers!

That man deserved it! He shouldn't have been poking a puffer, didn't he know what puffers have teeth....that hurt (and chop your fingers off:p)?

Ouch!!!!!

I agree, I would have done..... :shifty: I would have bitten his finger off as well...hee hee....making it look like food indeed!

Diver: I know, the puffer won't come out so I'll pat him on the head.
Puffer: What an idiot. I'll just sit here though.
Diver pats puffer on head.
Diver: He's not coming out...I wonder why.
Puffer: Ouch! Grrrr...but I won't lose my temper...yet....
Diver: I know! I'll wave my hands to make it look like food!
diver waves his hand around.
Puffer: What does he take me for? Some kind of idiot?
Diver waves more, getting closer and further away.
Puffer: Right, thats it!
Puffer bits off diver's finger.
Puffer takes a bow and feels pleased with himself for a good day's work

Jeez... what an idiot! Reminds me of something that happened at a diving place around here. The place is an inland naturally-heated salted spring, in which was opened an "inland ocean", with all sorts of tropical marine fish (great place to dive, very fun). A lot of times they have boyscouts that go there for what I'm assuming is to get a merrit badge, and almost every time that they go, they kill a fish. The two stories that I best remeber are the times that they killed the nurse shark, and the time that they killed the aquatic "welcoming crew", Misty, the porcupine puffer. The stupid kids decided to try to make her puff, and in the process, the little brats broke her back and killed her. However, Misty did have the chance to puff right next one of the kid's stomachs, and jab him with spines, causing rather serious injury. The poor nurse shark was fed a plastic grocery bag and the kid got away scot-free.
