I have Valentini Puffer and he keeps pecking at my turbo snails. This is starting to make me angry. He has behaved so well for so long. Now all of the sudden i add some more snails and he is trying to eat them constantly. Any ideas on how to get him to stop?

Puffers will do that and you really can't stop them. If you can get the snails out, take them back to the LFS or put in another tank if you have one. If you can't then your puffer will be eating good for awile. I know that sound bad but that's all you can do.

Hazmat :)

Stryker's right. A puffer will eat any invertebrate it can find. It may have been nice as a juvenile, but the older they get, the more destructive they become. Don't count on being able to turn this tank into a reef.

I want to take the Velentini Puffer out of the tank. I cant though. Apparently your supposed to catch him with a container of sorts but he is incredibly fast, and evil. Anyone know the best way to get this guy outta here? This tank needs to be a reef tank. I dont want the puffer in there. He belongs to a friend of mine anyhow.

I'm like Spanair; I do the food-bribe trick. Works every time. Just get a lump of frozen brine shrimp and float it whole. The greedy blighters will all come and investigate then grab him! then net the rest of the solid shrimp cube.
