Ive just got a figure 8 puffer and I also bought it some frozen blooworm. Never having used the frozen bloodworm befor Im a bit unsure on how much to feed him as the blocks look rather big. Should I start of by just giving him falf a block and if he gets through that increase? I dont want to over feed and pollute the water with food thats left over and wasted.

Also was told every now and then to put a cockle ot two into the tank. Should I use fresh ones from the fish monger? Or use live ones? or can I use frozen ones from the shops? or do some lsf do cockels??

Thanks in advance

you want to feed so that the puffer gets a slightly rounded belly, bloodworms are ok when they are small but as they get bigger it's best to use bigger food.
if you use cockles and they are fresh it's best to freeze them first or buy them frozen if you can find them you can also use mussels in the shell and prawns with the shell on all good for there teeth.
you might like to try live earthworms puffers love these, i buy mine off ebay they are fairly cheap and last a good while.
