Everyone knows i brought the redtailed catfish from another, with intentions of finding him a better home...

Well i had found a home which he was ment to go in three weeks time....

With that in mind i found a good deal,

1x 9-10inch Brycon melanopterus
2x 9-10inch Pink Tail Chalceus
1x 15inch Polypterus Ornatipinnis

so i went and brought them, well i got them home, added to tank, all went fine, before i fed redtail so much his belly was bursting, It all seemed to work, everyone getting on fine, Ive had a 5inch oscar now for just over two weeks....well around 1.30am redtail went mental trying to eat everything, would not give up,tried so hard to eat the ornate, so round 3am i caught him in a net, placed him in poly box, came in around at 7.00am was going to move fish around n place him in the three foot, however i was too late, he was dead, only in poly box four hours, people travel with them sometimes longer, i thought he would be ok, really annoyed at myself...

Never mind don't be too hard on yourself! These things do happen, he could have stressed himself doing the chasing with the polybox being the last straw! It happens to the best of us as demonstrated! lol Sorry for your loss though!

nightmare. one of those blunders where you can only kick yourself but at least you gave him a better home for a while

so you got the other threee then?

yes i got the 2x Chalceus...1x brycron and the huge ornate birchir, he is a monster..lol

will post pics of them in the next few days...for some reason the oscar and snakehead seem to keep attacking the Chalceus's underside, either there yellow fins or there red tail...hope this sesse's quite soon

Tis a shame, I can imagine how you feel.

This fish keeping business can be so stressful sometimes, makes it hard to just sit back and enjoy the view.

At least you saved the rest of the stress of being chased and munched. :good:

ok some new guy shots...

Your oscar's looking nice!

Have to say also that I love bala sharks once they get to that sort of size. They seem to be so relaxing to watch in their movements as they swim.

Can't say I'm keen on them new fishes but then ugly fishes take time to grow on me

well they all seem to have worked out there places now, scuffles<chasing more like>down to usual of any fish tank...fingers crossed it works... :shifty:
But the brycron iam loving this fish, wish i could have a large tank like dave_oddball and have a wee shoal of these, or T1KARMANN dream tank.. <wakey wakey nelly> :-(

Dang that sucks about your Redtail, hopefully she/he is in a better place now

Would it cheer you up if I told you that those Keyholes you persuaded me to get are king and queen of that aquarium and seem really happy? :/
