Yesterday was interesting, it started with my weekly water change. My brother was also disbanding his tank due to a house move, and I was expecting 3 fish from him later on in the day. At 8pm, I floated the fish and went to the shops. On my return, I cut the fish loose and watched them swimming about for a while to make sure they were ok. It occured to me that I had not seen my male Golden Ancictrus for a while and I started to panic. I lifted all the rocks and hideaways to see if I could see him and he appeared to have disapeared into thin air. All of a sudden, I saw a little tail flipping around in the gravel and my immediate thought was... w t f ?? That cant be fry, ive not had live bearers for ages....and it turned out to be exactly that! I straight away netted it and put it into a fry net, and found another and did the same thing to ensure they wouldnt become food! I started to get a bit confused because that appeared to be it....or so I thought. When I had a close look at the 2 fry, I realised they were perfect miniture Albino Bristlenoses!! Now I knew that bristlenoses incubated their eggs in caves, but there was nothing - I was also gutted that i hadnt witnessed the courtship. I had another look for my male, and found him inside the hollow lining of an ornamental cave! As I turned it upside down, out swam what seemed like hundreds of bristlenose fry!!!! I sat patiently for hours fishing them out so they wouldnt be eaten, and put them in a smaller empty tank. After watching them a while, I was worried I had done the wrong thing with them all having being hidden in the cave liner so I did some searches and found that luckily when I had found them, they appeared to be at the right stage to be removedam so excited, I cant wait to be able to get some decent pictures, Im so proud to be a fist time bristlenose mum!!! :D  :hyper: :D

Lucky you :good: It's always great finding new bristle nose fry they are so cute and the normals have so many different spotting patterns its amazing. Good luck with the fry, they are hungry little beasties and will always be searching for their next meal.
