I know it's sad but earlier on this week I noticed two baby Assassins amongst the gravel in my tank. The grains of gravel are bigger than the babies but non the less they are there. It's nice to know that the tank environment is good enough for the Assassins to breed. Must be doing something right.

Now for a question to members, I haven't been feeding the Assassins because they feed on the ---- in the gravel left over from the Guppy poo and left over Guppy food.
I tried some TetraWafer Mix but they didn't seem interested.
I've read that Bloodworms are good for them but if I get live ones will they have a detrimental effect on me Guppies or like pest snails go mad and breed all over the tank?
OR
Do you think it's best leave things as they are and let them feed on the ---- in the gravel?

If assassins are breeding, then simply put, carry one what you are already doing.

Assassins are happy enough to feed on leftover fish foods and algae, they do not eat fish poop as far as am aware.

I keep assassin snails too, i occassionally treat them to an Hikari Algae Wafer, they love that stuff, well mine do anyway

And very occassionally I will add some pond snails into the tank for them to feed on, they're not called Assassin Snails for nothing ;)

Cause its easier to say than Assassin Whelk?

They are quite a pretty snail, I just wish i could get them in Australia.

Assassins will eat most protein rich fish food that sinks to the substrate if they are hungry.  I feed mine pond snails that breed in other tanks and then they get whatever I feed the rest of the tank.   The fact that they are breeding is a good sign that they are doing good so I wouldn't worry too much about them right now.

I too have just become a parent to baby assassins

mine have plenty of snails to eat but I often see the adults feeding on the tetra wafer mix I drop in there but as others have said if the adults are doing well and you have babies they are finding food, in response to the bloodworm question you had they will not breed in the tank as they are midge larvae so they are not in their adult form of flying midges, only then can they breed, I would imagine your guppies would swallow them up before the snails could though!
