I have a fish only tank it has already cycled the guy at the pet store says to wait six months most people say after the cycle I feel six months could be too long?

Put the skimmer in immediately. Turn it one and leave it. you wont get anything to stat with but dont be alarmed as a skimmer cannot skim what isnt there.

Once the nutrients begin to appear the skimmer will be on the case right away and the skimming will proceed!
