Please take this poll. I am looking for a good protein skimmer for my 55 gallon tank and my 75 gallon tank.

Thanks

AquaC. In the future, if you use a poll, you may want to consider adding 'other' as a choice so that members have an option to answer your post. SH

I second the Aqua C. I have the remora HOB. Very good Skimmer. Concurrently I have the Superskimmer running at the same time and it has skimmed nothing over the last two weeks.

im with andy, ive heard too many bad things about aquaC to even consider them.... If your in US euro-reef is pretty good and cheaper than the tunze and deltecs.

Tunze or Deltec. Why pay so much money for LR, salt and livestock, and try and save on a very important part of the filtration system?

Hehe, cause on this side of the pond, usually forefiture of your first born son is required to purchase either ;)

Its funny you've heard of problems with the AquaCs Musho, of the 6 I've ever seen in operation, all have performed phenomenally... It's possible we're both lucky and unlucky with our experiences I guess.

well ive never owned or used one, but since i have read so many bad things, i dont consider one. It seems like some people love or hate it, for some it works like a bubbleking, for others, like a fission nano skimmer..... I guess this is because they are hand made.... (at least thats what i heard..)

I heard so many good things about Aqua C I even saw one running and it looked great, I think I am goin to get an Aqua C

If you have a sump I would go with an octopus or ASM, I personally sold off my Remora pro like a hot potato... noisy and hard to tweak. The good thing about getting an Aqua C is that if you don't like it you will still retain much of the value on a sale... love them or hate them skimmer.

I use ER's larger skimmers 8-2, 12-2 but I bought them when they still sold blems and the prices were not so ridiculous. I also have a tunzie which is really nice for space restricted areas, but I only ran it for a while before I let the sump run out of feed water... and kind of broke it :( so I am reluctant to give a review. I also use volcano skimmers... but they are out of this comparison category.

In the end, I suggest a needle wheel or the tunzie. JIME

Deltec MCE600, run 2 of them and they have been excellent, good air production and relatively easy to maintain, though they do make quite a bit of noise when the noise reduction kit starts to wear.

Have used Seaclones and have been disappointed and have not heard of the others apart from the berlin

I think other would have been a good option

Steve :)
