Protein Skimmer

Hi, I was wondering how long i need to keep my skimmer in my tank running. I have tetra ex 1200 filter and a wave maker. would i be able to turn the skimmer off over nite? the tanks in my room and loud at nite. lol

they are best run 24/7. Fish loss tends to happen at night aswel so thats one of the times you need the skimmer!
