Hi all I have just set up my protein skimmer with a 900lph pump fitted and I cant seem to get more than a few bubbles forming ( definatly not the sort of amount I would expect )
has anyone got any ideas?

For many skimmers it does take a few days to break it in and really get going. If it's been longer than that then the water level in the body likely needs to be adjusted. How to go about this depends on the skimmer. Some will have a valve and others will require you raise or lower them in the water depending. Mine has a valve I turn. I fine tune it every so often just to keep it where I want it.

thanks for the reply I have the outlet valve closed about 80% and the water level is sitting on the water line . the problem is the bubbles are so few you can almost count them

Can you post a vide of it?
What happens when you open the valve up?

Sounds like it might. They usually come with a pump that's rated for the skimmer body. If it didn't come with one the manufacturer can still tell you what GPH you will need out of it.
