I can see eggs in 2 of my 4 Amano shrimp. I first noticed this 5 or 6 days ago.

What should I do if I want to save the babies? Put the 2 pregnant ones in a breeder's net? What do I feed them?

Thanks, please respond soon!

If, and a big if at that, you actually have eggs that hatch and aren't eaten, they should be kept in their own tank and fed on baby brine shrimp, dafnia, all those small organisms like that. Put the females in the tank you intend to raise them in and add iodine to the water to help with molting. Take the females out once the eggs are laid or hatched. I'm not sure if they hatch first or are laid and hatched. I think they lay them first though.

So what should I do to maximize my chances of getting lots of live shrimp babies?

I've got a spare 5.5g I could set-up, but if I'd be fine just popping em in a breeder's net, that's what I'd prefer.

Should I house both of the pregnant females together? Also, are the eggs already fertilized, or do I have to keep them with the male so he can fertilize them?

Thanks

Those babies will need brackish water to survive. They will not survive in freshwater alone. Good luck, as it's very difficult to raise those guys.

Depends on the species of Ghost Shrimp. Some are freshwater and some are brackish.
SomethingsFishy said they're amano shrimp..aka japonica shrimp. They will need brackish water.

Breeding:Caridina japonica eggs and the larvae are extremely small. In nature, the 1mm large larvae float downstream towards the sea where they grow up until the age of two months. After that they will return to their freshwater environment to fully grow, and reproduce.

U can't put it in a breeder's net cuz the holes are too big. The fry looks like dust, so U probably don't want a filter in there. As soon as the shrimp drops it's eggs, it turns around and tries to eat them. So U gotta remove it asap. I know nothing about amano shrimp, but that's what ghost shrimp does.

I wouldnt have much hope if I were you as amano shrimp are notoriously difficult to breed.

I would defo give it a shot though!
It would make you elite if you could figure out the exact conditions to breed them in!

Good luck!
