Not posted in a while, not had any problems lol!

Firstly, i bought a second hand fluval 405 recently, and i dont think its that powerful - as in, im pretty sure its on a par (output wise) with my fluval 3 plus (700lph), but the external is supposed to be 1300lph?? I removed some media to see if i had too much in there, and it barely made any difference. The impeller etc are all clean. Any ideas before i sell it on and buy a new one lol?!

Secondly, Ive got a rena 200w smart heater, which doesnt seem to be able to regulate temps as well as a newer 150w i have - as in, if the 150w comes on, the 200w doesnt come on til a while after...it always seems to be 1-2 degrees C out too. any ideas on that?

Thanks folks :D

I don't know how much help this will be. I have an old 304 that I replaced the impellor and upgraded the tap connector to the new style. It really puts out a lot more water than it did when it was new.

thermostats on heaters are not accurate. Just because the two heaters are set to the same temp does not mean they will run that temp. Usually they are off slightly which is why you should use a separate thermometer to gauge tank temp.

Never been much a fan of smartheaters either. First one I bought lasted 8 months. The replacement they gave me under warranty lasted about a year before suffering the same problem as the first.
