Problems With Chat?

got a new pc the other day so we've had to re-install all the little plug-ins and stuff you need for everyday use again.

just tried to connect to live chat for the first time and it say's i need a plug in... so fine. click to download it and initially it appears to work fine, finds the plug in then it has a tantrum and say's it can't find it and i should install it manually.

so i go to java's website and download it from there, again it starts ok then when it gets to the point it would be installing it it say's it can't find the relevant plug in and gives up on me. bah!!

i'm guessing it's windows vista related, perhaps the latest version of java isn't supported on vista or something like that (wild guesses here) anyone know what it is and can help?

I just had the same problem, what i eventually found is that i had to download java version 6 completely as there was no java already on the machine and the plug in was just a update for machines with java already on them.

I hate this vista operating system and i'm not liking the firefox browser much either
