Hey all...So currently I have 2 ghost shrimp and 1 cherry shrimp in my ten gallon...I was planning on just ordering a handful of cherries, but then I thought I might want a little variety...any suggestions on shrimp stocking for this tank? It is planted, only fish in there are 5 ballon mollies, one of which is an adult.

Thank you,
Megs

Quite a few here however, i don't advise you to buy from online :good:

well i love crystal reds, tigers, bamboos, cherries, amanos...i just don't know how many of what i can put with what in this tank :/

thank you for your reply :)

There are places online that have the scienctific name or family name of various captive kept shrimp. Basically anything that is Caridina you can only keep 1 of that type in a tank because of the risk/ chance of them cross breeding. Cherry Shrimp are Neocaridina and are safe to keep with Caridina, off the top of my head I can't recall what Amanos are but I am pretty sure their free swimming larval young require brackish conditions so they shouldn't be an issue with other shrimp.

Hope that points you in the right direction, and good luck with the shrimp they are great little critters.

Thank you! I love love love shrimp! One more question, I am getting a fluval flora 8 gallon for my betta, can I keep crystal reds in there, and if so how many?

Crystal red shrimp are extremely sensitive to water parameters, you'll want to read up on them so you can decide if they would work for you.

A Betta will normally not get along well with shrimp, he'll eat them. You could try 2 or 3 ghost shrimp with a betta. Not all betta fish like tank mates, so you have to be prepared to separate him from his tankmates if it doesn't work out.
