USA,
are they died?
My brother has some that have a yellowish tint to them, not like a blob or anything, but just look yellow, but still see through. And at the mall pet shop, they have some that are greyish and clear.

Are there two diffrent kinds? Or could it be the light in his tank that makes them look yellowish? The lights kinda yellowish

I have never heard of them being dyed, but then anythign's possible it seems :(

Maybe your brother's tetras are jsut healthy and happy? Fish tend to be pale and dull when stressed, but when healthy and well-fed they begin to show their proper colours.

btw your bettas have such adorable names

lol, thanks. I especially like Fezziwig. Isnt that name from like that A christmas carol play or whatever?

I saw a picture of someones fish of congo tetras, they look similar to the ones at the store. Could they have just named them wrong? I wouldnt be supprised if they did. They do call the goldfish Imp. goldfish. Minght stand for imported though.

his have competition for food with the others, but they do get alot, wait till it sinks if they cant get it from the top. And he does have them in a group of 3. So they do seem happy. i keep telling him to get rid of his other two ones, because theyre two diffrent kinds and get two more of the pristillas. But he minght be getting a boat for fishing, so if he does Im going to make my parents let me get a tank, so that he ould improve the schools of the fish.

Yeah, I can't remember much about him though except that he was jolly and danced a lot, consequentlyI have quite an amusing mental pic of your betta :D

congo tetras are very different to pristella tetras, they get to 3 - 4" for a start. here's a pic of a congo tetra:

and one of a pristella tetra:

You should be able to tell which your are by the tail - you'll notice the congo tetra has a very distinctive tail shape, see how how it has a sort of spiky bit in the middle.

Good luck getting that new tank, parents always seem to get in the way of fishkeeping  (don't I know it!)

Ive seen pristella tetras which you have described in your post. I have seen the normal pristella tetra aswell.

I wondered if they were dyed myself because i was ondering to buy them or not.
They were labelled Gold x ray tetras.

I did sime searching on the web for them but couldnt find anything.

when we got them they were silver however they do have a silvery yellow tint to them now... maybe its age related??
