Hi, well i thought my tank was cycled, but according to my LFS it hasn't!! According to my test kits I have slight ammonia and slight nitritate. I did not know that the color in the tube had to exactly match the one on the chart. I mean for ammonia its supposed to be yellow (for 0), my result comes out yellow but not exactly the yellow on the test. Same with my nitrite it comes out Blue but not aqua...but its such a slight color difference that I thought it was OK! is this OK? Is the LFS just trying to sell me more "magic potion"? Which they did of course, they said to use this Prime stuff see here: http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/Prime.html

Does this really work? Will it stuff up my ammonia readings and stuff?

If anybody can help it would be much appreciated!! I really thought my tank was cycled!!! (its in its 7th week)

I buy it by the 2 liter bottle, it's one of the best water conditioners on the market. It will convert ammonia to ammonium, a substance harmless to fish in aquarium concentrations, but still available to your bio filtration to be used the same as ammonia. This is the sodium hydromethane sufinate component, found in many so called ammonia removers.

It does detoxify nitrite, but trying to find out their chemical component has been impossible for me so far. They consider it a trade secret. Heavy metals are chelated out with EDTA, another common water treatment component.

It does work as advertised.

Thanks Tolak! Will it stuff up my ammonia readings though? As some of the "lock out" ammonia products out there do.
