Ok so ive been leaning towards Marine again and a friend has helped me price up a few bits and WONDERED on your thoughts?

Firstly Aquarium will be a brand new Juwel Rekord 96L as I want a tank with a stand.....so this is 160£

2 x 24w Lighting = £34, Which are Interpret Starter units
BOYU Protein Skimmer = £49.95 is this a good skimmer any expieriences with it?
2 x Interpet Powerheads = £26.00
30lb Arag-Alive Reef Sand = £38.00
Live Rock x 5kg = £50 was going to get 5KG LR and 10KG deadrock is this a good idea? or should I get all LR?
Hydrometer = £12
300l Rea Sea Reef Salt = £25

Does this sounds about right anything extra or anything less? Total comes to about £370-390 depending on where i shop

C&C please

Many thanks

Theres a 4ft tank for sale in buy and sell on here all for £200 with everything .I am reluctantly selling my tank. It is a 48"x15"x18" tank with a black ash effect stand and lid (lid is a bit tatty) In the hood are twin T5s and a single T8. It comes with a red sea prizm protein skimmer, 2 internal filters and a heater. It also comes with a case full of water tests.

Livestock wise it comes with approx 25kg Fiji LR. There is a big leather toadstool and also a few other corals (not sure of names) and plenty of feather duster worms. It has a pair of clowns, a mithrax crab, a blue lobster, a spiny sea urchin and a spineless sea urchin.

It is a lovely lookin tank but because of me moving into a flat I now have no room to keep it. I have 3 water containers to hold the water and buckets to hold the rock and corals.

I need this to go ASAP. You are welcome to come and look at it. My phone number is 07814 901232. It will be listed on that well known auction site soon so get in quick. I am after £200 ono.

I would go for that i dont think 96l is big enough imo.

No worries just trying to save you a few quid. But if you have the money then yes i would go for all new just make sure you shop around a bit first.

I would advise that you don't really need 30lb of live sand. Some are in the school of thought that is unneeded all together, but I would say, maybe aget a 5 or 10lb bag (depending on what quantities of it you can find) and for the rest, just use regular aquarium sand. This will be much cheaper, and honestly after a few months, it won't matter what kind of sand you got because the whole tank will be crawling and breathing once things get seeded...

the 5lb of lr and 10kg of dead rock sounds ok. Just make sure you keep an eye on water stats through the first months. the 10kg should def be enough filtration for two perc's and gramma but if you plan on doing corals where you will broadcast feed, you may get some die off from that that will add extra bioload. Like i said, should be fine, just keep an eye on the stats.

The lights are good for a fowlr. If you plan on getting photosynthetic corals though, make sure you atleast look into a good power compact light.

Might be in your best interest to look into a refractometer as well. I still use a hydrometer but as everyone has heard atleast once before, they can be on the dodgy side when it comes to accuracy. But, refractometers are lots more money too so there is a trade off.
