i used to have a blue betta from walmart, guess what? it started to look funny, maybe it was rotting? then i came home from school, it died. The betta I have now, Tiger, is way betta (get it!?). I got it at pisces pet emporium, sumthin like that. But u know in pictures and all that? the betta's fins are like, nice and wide and not..."droopy"? well, my betta's fins are kinda droopy, is that okay? or is he gonna DIE?!

He's not gonna die from droopy fins, he's not acting ill is he?

And welcome to the forum!! :D

Thanks! nope, he's not acting ill or anything, eats well, nice good scales. I guess he's good, thanks :)
May be he's old. LOL

He could very well be old. Most pet store bettas are a year old by the time they get to the shop.

wow. i've learned something new! :D again, thanks for everythin' B)

but i maybe would like to kno another thing, why is his face more pale than his body, anyone?!

sorry to hear about your first betta. those poor bettas have been in those containers for a while. i wonder if they change the water in them? would be horrid if they didn't. the bettas at the wal-mart here don't sell. I recognize each of them every time i pass by.

[about the face coloration]

the first thing i'd look for is odd behavior. if hes swimming around fine and all happy like, he's fine.

if you got him like that its probably coloration.

most bettas faces arent thae same color as their body. usually they are a brownish color though.

As for the ones you see pictured and yours being droopy, that's probably because most of the pictures were taken of the male flaring. If you hold a mirror up to your Bettas tank and let him see his reflection, he may flare for you, and you can see how he looks then (it will be magnificient).

As for the face color...it's probably just his normal coloring pattern, as someone else mentioned, most Bettas faces aren't the exact same color as their body, some are darker some are lighter.

What are you feeding him?
