Pregnant or not??

One of my zebra danio's has become very large.. i presumed it was pregnant but i did post a topic and people said it could be costipated try mushed peas and lessing the food... tried all that and its getting BIGGER and i mean its stomach is the size of 4 peas together side by side is this normal??? is it really pregnant??

She may be pregnant... but I have had instances where my females were HUGE and it turned out they were just constipated. Give her time...

the scales are the covering of the fish, the skin of it. the scales lie flat on the fishes body and slightly overlap each other.
when a fishes body bloats out the scales stand out like a pine cone.

ok its hard to explain but the belly is ssooo big that the skin over it looks cracked! and like its away to explode (hoping it wont) is that healthy?

can someone please help!! im sorry to bother you lot but its scary seeing one of my zebra danios that size!! she has quite a lot of cracks some are red like,...... help!!!

Your'e not bothering us, is there red in between the cracks is that what you mean, can you issolate the fish.

Yes some lines a red in between cant get a good look cause it moves too fast lol.. what you mean isolate it?

I would get a picture but have digital camera to take one, ill try get a hold of one to post pic ok?

To isolate the fish means to put it alone in a smaller hospital tank so it can get medication and not pass any disease on to other fish.

I think I would start medicating the fish with an internal bacteria med, and some salt don't like the sound of the red in the cracks, best to isslate her for treatment, also you will need an airstone with adding the meds it reduces the 02 in the water.

So what treatment do i use to treat it? Bacteria control yeah?
Oh it's hard work to keep fish!! )

Only med available is interpet anti internal bacteria med, does it look sore underneath the cracks or blood like.
