Pregnant or Dropsy

I got a male and female platy about 6 weeks ago. The female has recently grown large, with the porcupine-like appearance that is characteristic of dropsy. However, I have never seen any pictures of a pregnant platy, so I do not know if the scales point outwards when the platy is pregnant, as well. Other than the appearance of the platy, there is no unusual behavior exhibited by the platy. All of my other fish are fine--both in appearance and behavior.

I have 2 females platy's and mine have never had the scales protrude when pregnant and one just dropped fry tonight. I'd keep an eye on her.
and you should join the forum and post this in the tropical fish emergencies section as it gets alot more traffic
