Both of my pregnant mollies bellies, like right around their anal fins, has turned a white color. Both of them are getting fatter so I'm pretty sure the babies are still developing, but I don't know why they have white. Especialy Tigger, she never had any white on her before. Sunshine had a little bit (it is more clear though), but never any on her belly. They both just got the white on them today. It isn't like something growing on them either...it is like their "skin" tone there has changed from orange and black to white.

The white is like the color of the plain white mollies...very white!!!

Also, I'm not sure how far along either of them is, so I was wondering, how do you know when they are about to have the babies? Is there any specific things that mollies do before they go into labor, or while they are in labor, that would make me know that they were about to have them? I want to save as many of the fry as I can, from both mommies, so I REALLY want to be able to get them into breeding nets in time.

Any and all help is appriciated. :) Thanks!!!!

ur the person with the cute mollies tigger and punk hehehe  :D well i noticed a white mark on my red wag platy, shes a female too but i only noticed after she had given birth .......(i didnt no co sthe fry was white and turned ornage later on lol) if i was u i would wait until they are very fat then put then into a breeder net or whatever cruel little thing u have to put them in........ :*) soz just i dnt like breeders nets i'd rather they gave birth in a tank and the fry swam into the plants for safty sure some will die but in thoery the would be the weak ones which i wouldnt be able to sell or could of even been deformed ... but as soon as i see fry i rescue them and put then in my other tank lol i will eveutually get another tank for giving birth in. also u cant really look for a gravid spot on ur fish cos there spotty anyways, soooo just have to make a judgment of when u think she is fat enoughf ....also when fish are about to give birth they dnt do much, they normally find somewhere quiet down bottom of the tank under some plants to give birth or to get ready never seen a fish give birth cos there do it at night well my fish do!! :shifty: sneaky fish!! but i'll catch them one day muhhahahhaha :hyper:,LOL!!!
ohwell cya!

Yeah, my female black molly has it too. Her anal fin is white and she has a white thing coming out from her anus. She doesn't look square from behind, but she is staying completely still and doesn't move, she is in her little cave. But the catch of everything is, shes only 2 weeks into her pregnancy. Can anyone explain to me whats happeneing and what to do????? I have a birthing tank, should I put her in there. Also, she didn't eat anything today. Are the abbaies comeing? But still she only 2 weeks!!!!

Quite possible Ron just keep a close eye on her and don't stress too much ok.

It's exciting aint it!!!!!

Well, from that square thing, I think that Tigger is gonna have her's pretty soon. She is a lot fatter than Sunshine, and she is square looking. She pretty much stays in one spot, until the male bothers her...
