How do you tell if your guppy is pregnant, I went out and bought 1 male and female for my 55 gallon with 30 other fish. When I bought her she was skinny but now shes BIG. I feed the tank 3-4 times with no extra food falling to the bottom, they eat it all. Help, I have 1 platy fry in my tank living right now and hes about 1 centimeter, but I want as many guppy fry i can help to live.

I dont know how to add images, sorry

One sure fire way to tell if she is pregnant is if you can see tiny fish eyeballs by her stomach. If your female is a bit see through you can see them. But being a male and female combo in your tank id def say she is preg no matter what. If he seems to be all over the female and harrassing her a bit much make sure to get another female or two. But i would do that anyways as well.

If you want them to survive make sure there are plenty of hiding spots. Java moss is great for this. Other than that you can set up a ten gallon and put the female in there untill she gives birth.

Or you can get a larger breeder net and scoop up the babies and let them grow a couple weeks in the breeder net. Just make sure to keep it spic and span in the little breeder.

Also using a turkey baster to suck up fry can be easier than using a net to get the fry

How far along des she have to be to see little eyes, and about how many?

Im not too sure on that one to be honest. My platy has been showing eyes in her stomach for a week now and i dont think shes going to drop for another week. Litter size is usuallly random but bigger as the platy ages and births.

You will know the eyes when you see them if the fish is transparent at all. I can see mine very clear!

My guppy is pregnant and I think one of my silver mollies may also be pregnant, I'm not too sure what to do with pregnant fish. Any advice?? Thanks!

You can see the blackish of the eyes a couple weeks before, but if your guppies gravid spot is transparent enough, once they develop the silver rings around the eyes you can see those about 1 week or less before she gives birth. For me though, I've only been able to see the eyes on more "blonde-like" females.

If you can stand my poor camera quality, here is a picture. (The bright spots are eyes)
