We have a pregnant guppy & a pregnant platy, they have been pregnant for at least several weeks & both look like they're about ready to pop. We bought some breeding nets but I'm not sure when we should put them in the traps. Someone told me that they will generally stop eating before they give birth but so far they both seem to be eating both times we feed each day. The main thing I notice is that both are spending a bit more time hiding in the tank. There's one other female guppy which seems to harass all the pregnant fish in the tank so both of the extremely pregnant ones are hiding out at the top of the tank behind the powerheads or filter intake.
I'm thinking it's got to be close to the time but I don't want to put them in the nets too soon. I am tempted to put them in tonight but I just don't know if the thing of them stopping eating is accurate before they give birth or not.
I've read most of the main posts on here of how to tell if they're pregnant & their behavior & how they get squared off & they are looking kind of boxy.
Thanks
