hey guys.. just wondering if anyone could tell me if my black balloon molly is pregnant. I have her about a month now . She is in a tank with 3 females and 2 males. I have bought more plants and a breeding box just incase she does have some babies . But any verification on this would be much appreciated as I feel she is getting larger by the day now. Also her bum area is quite large and white compared to the male.. is this an enlarged vent!? I tried to take a pic of it but she swims off too fast for my camera. You can kind of see it in one pic. Cheers guys.

It’s very stressful to put them in a breeder box. I always just fished the babies out at birth and placed them in the nursery box. It’s hard to find them though and parents will eat them. It’s your call there. You should feed them Hikari First Bites at first. It’s a powder. Good luck!

Oh yes I am not putting her in it.. i just got it for when she has the babies( for the babies) or even if I manage to see her giving birth which I'm sure is a slim chance I would put her in it then. By looking at her would you think she had much more to go? I know its around the 40 day mark for full term.
I thought it was 60 days but haven’t had Livebearers for quite some time. She will give birth a few days after she squares off on the bottom and her gravid spot enlarges.
