Ok, I was doing a bit of aquascaping, so pulled pretty much everything from my tank to tidy up leaves and re arrange the tank slightly.

I was just putting everything back and saw one of my shrimp had caught one of my cories, the corie escaped.

Now I have never seen them do this, but had been warned it is predatory because of their pincers. I havn't put in algae wafers in for them in a while, could this be why they attacked or is it just their nature?

Any help is much appreciated :)

What species of shrimp is it? Many shrimp have pincers but some are docile like the Pearl shrimp. Also, how big is the shrimp and how big is the cory? Is the cory otherwise "healthy"?

I don't know what the shrimp is, my LFS couldn't tell me neither could anyone here. The shrimp is about the same size as the cory and healthy, even after his ordeal. Both shrimp have one pincer bigger than the other, after the grand prix I will get some pics up
