I am thinking about setting up another tank
Size will be 36x15x12 fitted with UG Filter
Also fitted with Powerheads ?
Would i be better running 2 heads
1 at each end of tank or just 1 larger flow
unit at 1 end for this size of tank

Why did you chose to go with undergravel filter? Also it all depends on how big the powerheads are...that would dictate whether you needed one or two. There are powerheads out there that can accomadate a tank of that size by it self.

Hi,

If you are running an UGF, in a tank that size, I would suggest that you use only one powerhead. Under gravel filters dont need masses of water turnover to make them effective. If you are intent on using two powerheads, then turn the output of them both down to minimal levels. That way you will allow a degree of settlement onto the susbstrate, and enable the UGF to work effectively. A Hagen Aquaclear 301 powerhead will run that tank fine by itself.
