ok if i put a 525gph powerhead in a 20 gallon would it just be way too much flow and just be havock or would it be ok. what would a recomended amout of flow be?

If it was a pinpoint flow powerhead then I would think it to be too much, if it was something moddified or flowing like a tunze or seio it should be fine. It also would depend on how you wanted to position it and the position in relation to your liverock and livestock.

Attach a spray-bar to it and it should be perfect!
