Power Filter 1 or 2?

I have a 10 gal tank going thru fishless cycle right now (Week 1). It came with a Top Fin Power Filter #10 (http/tinyurl.com/5pjt2).

I did not think that filter was so great so I went to PetsMart and bought an Aqua Clear Power Filter #20. (http/tinyurl.com/4ppl5) Becuase it has a 3 stage filtration system.

In any case, I'm happy with it but am wondering is it OKAY to put the other one to use on the same 10 gal tank AT THE SAME TIME? There is no point in having it doing nothing right?

I put two penguin minis on my 10 gallon tank. As long as it does not push your fish around when you get them, I don't see the harm.

Thank you. I added the 2nd power filter and lowered the rate of the 1st one. So the amount of water moving is still the same. No fish in the tank yet. Still cycling the 10 gal tank. So I guess I'm just gonna have to wait and see if the fish like the double filters. =)
