Hey all

Ive got a 55 gallon (the fish are in my signature), I'ts got a sand bottom with some malasian driftwood and fake plants. its been running for about a month and a half after I cycled it and i want to get a bristle nose pleco, problem is i dont see any algae on the glass or substrate just some on 3 or 4 of my fake plants. should i wait till theres more algae visible or could i supplement with pellets wafers and veggies? thanks!

The main diet should be wafers and vegetables, with algae to supplement those.

Pretty much, its an easy mistake to make.

Ancistrus do a great job on algae in the main, however they do need specific feeding to keep them at their best
