Ok guys, I know I asked before but that was with a 5g. This time I decided to put the breeding on hold for awhile until I'm totally 100% prepared for it. (If it wasn't for the experts input on this forum, I never would have came to that realization. Thanks guys.) So, I'd like to turn the 10g breeder into a community tank with 1 male betta. I'm still totally in love with kuhli loaches so I'd like to get at least 2 of them but any other suggestions? I'm not putting my fire gourami in there cause I learned from before that they don't do well with bettas. Tetras maybe but most likely something small, maybe schooling fish. Thoughts or advice?

I'd say just the betta and a group of 6-7 khulis. Although Maybe go for half normal khulis and half black khulis, they don't have the yellow but I've found they're move active during the day time.

Hmmm.... I don't know much about kuulis, but I've heard they need arounf 6 G per fish and females are very agressive to ward eachother.
The best tankmates seem to be platy and oto (but oto's probably shouldn't be in such a small tank) from what I keep hearing from my and other's experiences.

Actually my husband had otocats in the same tank when it was his tank and they did fine. He had quite a few other fish too like a group of 6 danios and a few guppies. I may move one of my oto's over from my other tank. We have actually had quite a number of guppy broods and they're not all full size yet so I may let some of them grow out in there. Both my males don't mind the guppies.

 Where did you hear that? I've got about 7 normal khulis (well, if you want to get technical, striped khulis I think) and one black on living together in a 20g with various tankmates. So for a 10g, 1 betta and 6 or 7 khulis would make a great setup.
