in this weeks order we had delivered a 4inch plec, which came in as a gold dot laciancistrus, Its priced at £25.
Usually most of the more exotic plecs we get in, go straight into hiding when they come in, this one didn't, everytime i go past the tank it is always on full view,

Anyway i looked on planet catfish and i believe its a L017,

can anyone tell me what its diet should include? (i.e meat or veg pleco)
also am i right in saying that this plec will get to around 5inches?
and lastly is that an ok price for him, (will get a discounted price so not too bothered, just woul like opinions)

Thanks
Dave

You might try some zuccihini. Honestly, I'm not sure what they'll eat in their natural habitat though.

Good Luck

Thanks, i have kept bristlenose for a while now and they have ample wood, as well as catfish pellets, algae wafers and cucumber

is a photo possbile?

Lasiancistrus and Hopliancistrus are quite different in appearance

I haven't got a photo, but to me it looks identical to this image from planet catfish

L017

I also looked through all the lasiancistrus listed and none were as similar

Did you look at L18 or the L67? IMO, all three of these fish are similar. The L18 has a huge range of food, which is why I'm asking, really. ;)

definitely none of them, we have gold nuggets in a lot so they would be marked as those, it doesn't have as many spots as the L67,
If i were a betting man i would say it was a L017, i'll try and get a pic next time i'm in

After looking again i'm pretty sure that it is actually a L067, as it has a lot more spots than i initially thought
