I have been reading about Popeye infection and notice my Betta's eyes seem to bulge out. He's always been kind of bug eyed. Does this look like a case of Popeye to you? I know it's not a great video but it's all I have.

Thanks!

Bettas do have eyes that pop out a little bit. This is normal. Have you noticed any extra bulging? If so when did it start?

I haven't noticed extra bulging but I was looking at him with my magnifier and was looking at him up close and paid more attention to his eyes. His eyes look clear and he has no problems seeing. I guess because I am reading about this infection I am paranoid..lol.

I completely understand. But you should look up pictures of bettas with popeye, it looks really different. There is either major swelling or even these white globes on their eyes.
Is there any strange white caps on your fish's eyes? If not he probably has completely normal eyes.

I did look at some pics online and compared them and his eyes have no extra weird bulges or white spots. I can see his black pupils perfectly and he moves his eyes ok while looking at stuff. Like I said maybe I am just paranoid.

Pop-eye is normally caused by a bacterial infection getting into the brain or eyes. The most common cause is poor water quality. Good filtration and doing big regular water changes & gravel cleaning the substrate will normally prevent this disease ever occurring.
