Hi all, My boyfriends sharky is really poorly, and has been for abt 2 weeks, but we thought treating him with med might help him out, but it hasnt yet!

he is a ruby finned shark, who weve had since we set up the tank! abt 15 months ago!

He started off with his eyes looking like they had pop eye, but now both eyes have gone cloudy, and 1 has almost completely come away frm his head, and the other side is startin to look the same, has anyone got any ideas what this could be ? or how he cud have had this happen to him?

we have been treating the tank with anti internal bacteria med, but it doesnt seem to have made any difference?

i will upload a pic soon, but i have to warn u all, it is not a pretty sight, its very upsetting to see.

What are your test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, as cloudy eye and popeye can be caused by poor water quality, what size is the tank, how many fish and what type.

all of the tests have come out fine, so im not sure wot has caused this. there are all sorts of fish in the tank, platies, mollys, swordtails, flying fox, pleco, tiger barbs, a betta, and clown loaches, but they all get along fine, and no1 else seems to have got nethin wrong with them -_-

If he is going to lose both eye's you might aswell put him to sleep, as he won't survive blind, they can survive with one eye can you issolate the fish and add the internal bacteria med and some melafix.
