My Shark has recently developed a nasty flakey red sore, it started as a lump and then broke up in to a flakey patch like sore dried skin. I have seen my Ram butt into him a few times but the shark still follows him around, what should i do? Do i need to seperate them, give the Shark medication if so what? Could it be a bacterial infection?

Other tank mates are - 2 PLecs, 2 glass cat fish, 4 Angel fish, 9 Neons, 3 CLown loaches, 2 Scissor tails, 2 cat fish, Platty, 2 Rams,

Please see the picture and let me know asap, I dont want him to die!!!!

How big is the tank and how long has it been set up? Do you have water stats? How long exactly has the fish had the sore for? The photo is fuzzy but my guess would be either a low virulence strain of columnaris (curable with antibiotics) or else an injury with fungus growing on it (melafix and some antifungal medication).

125 Litre tank been set up over a year now. Water stats all indicate fine and have been doing more regular water changes, decided to seek out for a hospital tank asap as I have now seen the Angel fish and the Ram have a dig at him, will get the treatment started tomorrow!

Your tanks overstocked.
Clown loaches need 90 gallons tanks.
Need to look at your water stats.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing against objects in the tank.
Anti internal bacteria med for sores.

Sadly he passed away after I seperated him from the others

Bless him R.I.P.
