I posted in emergencys about my poor betta becoming shredded for no apparent reason. And got some help Now today i have posted this as he seems to be getting worse ! Alouring suggested posting this here so i hope you can help.

Had a check on my betta this morning and he seems to either have lost scales on the side of his head, nr his gills OR it's some sort of fungus. He's not really eating just picking at it, but not at all himself. He can't swim properly anyway and now he just looks really poorly.

I want to be able to help him ! what is it now?? could this of caused his shreaded tail and fins ? ?

Am so upset i really want to do something any ideas ? ?

My new tank has only been cycling a few days and in his poorly state i don't want to put him in the other tank incase 1) he puts some sort of infection in it. and 2) i don't think he would survive the cycling.

Any ideas guys ?? im on my knees here :-(

Many times bettas will chew up their own tails.

Your best bet would be to use Bettamax. That stuff is incredible, but not the easiest to find for some people.

Also, what size tank is he in?

If he is in a large tank with a strong filter flow, it will be harder for his tail to heal.

Sorry, wish I could help more. :/

Not currently in a huge tank, it's about 2ft x2ft but hexagonal (if that makes any sense) New tank 3ft long not sure on other dimensions.

The flow isn't too powerfull but he is definitly looking worse. I went home at lunch and looks like he's giving up. :-(
