I have a young male Bristlenose plec that i have in my 50 gallon. I got some new plants today and thought i would rearrange things around. I took out most of the bogwood and the mangrove root ornament and checked inside and saw nothing. While i was rearranginging the tank and doing the water change i thought it strange that i hadnt seen the plec, but didnt really think much of it. I put the ornament to one side as i was now finished with it and was going to put it away.
At the end of doing everything i picked up the ornament and as i looked inside i was horrified to see the tail of the plec sticking up. He was still wet luckily and i poked him thinking he was dead but he flicked his tail at me. I hurriedly put the ornament back into the small tank and out he popped and swam away.
I took the ornament out the tank when my daughter came home for dinner and the total time he was out the tank is an incredible 2 hours and 15 minutes. Anyone else had a plec out of water for longer?
